Cleaning Stairs with a Mop?

Keeping stairs clean in between major janitorial cleanings may seem like a major chore!  But cleaning stairs doesn’t have to be.  Whether in the office, work place, or at home, there are ways to keep your staircase welcoming.

Pleasant Janitorial suggests to freshen traffic areas of stairs and extend the time between major janitorial cleanings by using foam carpet cleaner and a damp mop. Yup. A mop.

Here’s how to do it:

• Spray foam carpet cleaner on dirty areas

• Let set a moment (the foam begins to disappear)

• Mop with a damp (not wet) string mop – do not use a foam mop.

Remember that the stairs will be damp for awhile so it is best for safety to do this when no one will be using the stairs for about ½ hour or post warning signs.
